brant

I think that is what I should call my "blog" is a "brant". It seems more fitting.

For example:

What is it with this fucking phenomenon called Facebook? Now I realize there is a bit of hypocrisy in my detestation of that site... after all, here I am blogging (branting, actually) about it. This site is a sort of bastard cousin to Assbook, Twatter, and who-cares-about-yourSpace. In lieu of making some sort of real, meaningful, human connection, here I am, sitting perched over a computer with no other human contact discussing my views. Much like those social networking sites, there is only the cyber-response. No live human interaction. No way to see or experience the other's emotion (and things like ":-)", ":-0", ">:-/" &c do NOT count as emotion).

I find it irritating that people cannot wait to log on to FB, mS, or T via their mobile devices or computer terminals instead of actually interacting with one another. What have we become as a society? And the whole, "Be my friend" thing on those sites? Being a "freind" means picking up the phone, sending a card, seeing each other live, having dinner and drinks and discussing politics or sex or religion or what the ugly trollop at the next table had the bad taste to wear out in public.

Now I realize that I am not the best correspondant in the world. I own it. However, at least I am thankful that the true freindships I have withstand the tests of not seeing each other or talking for extended periods but still being able to hug firmly and give a peck on the cheek and sit down together for quality bonding time. Face to face. Live, not through some computer terminal.
