Cartography

"If you want to put yourself on the map, publish your own map."

My map is still in the works, but I am starting to have a clearing picture of boundaries (where they should be even if I forget to respect them), important places to include , like the uphills (my failures), the wide-open roads (to take me to new places), the downhills and flatlands (comfort and ease)... all the good things that should be included and recognized.

Mapmaking is very tedious and at times challenging. I am finding myself in places I have never been, places that I somehow didn't pay enough attention to avoiding and have revisited, and thankfully places that I want to and/or have visited (I am glad that this is the largest part of my map).

I enjoy the challenge of making my own map. It makes me proud to look back and say I've done something, lived through something, gotten past something...

I realize I've come a long way, but still have so much farther to go. I'm truly recognizing that life really is a journey, and not a destination.

  1. Ah, I know it is only a virtual connection, but I'm so glad we have it. :)

Your post made me want to draw a map...I did something similar in my telecourse and it was REALLY interesting...

    Hugs!
