Winding down

My time is winding down. Not long ago, it seems, I was counting months. Then weeks. I am currently transitioning between weeks and days, as this chapter of my life ends and I prepare for my next.

It was about 18 months ago that the wonderful circumstance of having my favorite show WICKED open an extended run in the city. I was absolutely thrilled. I planned to go entirely broke from purchasing tickets to see the show weekly. While I haven't been able to see it weekly, I have been fortunate to see it several times during it's semi-local run. I am excited that I will get to see it one last time before I leave and it closes its run here. It's great to know that the national tour will be in the neighboring town after I reach my next destination. Yes, Virginia, there is a green girl who I absolutely love!

I have been here five years, which absolutely amazes me. It was originally to be three years, but the stay was unexpectedly extended. Over my time here, I have met good witches and bad, and have made friends that have given me so much. I will miss seeing them regularly, but will add them to my ever-growing chosen family with whom I stay in touch (albeit infrequent), and whom I visit and visit me occasionally.

I was told when I moved here that this was one of the warmest communities around. It was an incredibly honest statement: I will soon leave here missing many things of what this community of people have to share, and thank them for welcoming me so whole-heartedly when I first moved here. In particular JHH, TBS, and EM have been incredible instrumental in me becoming who I am as a professional.

When I left my home almost 10 years ago to start my current odyssey, I never expected to make friends that were so close to my heart as those I was saying good bye to in the Northwest. I am greatful to have friends here that I will carry with me wherever I go.
