258

To put things in the short term: 2 days. 2 days until my movie opens. Well, I say "my" but, you know, the movie opens is more a propos.

"What movie?" you ask. Well, I shall tell you.

The movie that is based on the book that was the inspiration for my first tattoo. The book that was the inspiration for my first AOL screen name, and is the inspiration for this blog's name. The book that has captured the attention of countless children (and adults). The story, consisting of a whopping nin sentences, that was written in 1963, and recieved the Caldecott Medal in 1964.

Now, I must say that I'm a purist- adaptations scare me. If things aren't exactly how they were originally, I really dislike them. Take for instance RENT. I can't believe that piece of cinematic trash actually passes for that phenomenal piece of theatrical brilliance.

I really really really want to like the movie, so I am choosing to belive that I will.

In entirely other news, I am exhausted. Damn that Dan Brown!! I was up til 2 this morning reading "The Lost Symbol." I only got about half way through. I really need to not read on school nights!
