Thought for today. Entirely random and unrelated to much of anything; but I came across it and thought it was pretty powerful. So to anyone who's ever experienced a loss in your life, this is for you in honor and rememberance of those who have crossed over.
"Grief never ends, but it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. The sense of loss must give way, if we are to value the life that was lived. Grief is not a sign of weakness or a lack of faith… it is the price of love."

Love your new banner! I went to the site last night when I saw the pics you had posted.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quote, too. The price of love. I love that. Thanks for posting. I think we have both paid a lot, which makes sense since we've both had a lot of love in our lives.
Hey Bud
ReplyDeleteThe site looks incredible. It matches your posts...this one contains one of the best I've heard in a while. Well done...if you don't mind, I may use it for a buddy who's just gone through some serious losses. Well done, and I looke forward to more.
Hey, Doc,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Absolutely feel free to use the quote, though I don't know who to credit. If you figure it out, lemme know.
Though it approaches loss from a different life path than mine, I very much appreciated the book "Mourning Song," by Joyce Landorf Heatherley, when I lost my mom.
Also, there's the poem, "To Remember Me" by Robert Test. Powerful. A bit of a diferent take, but if you're in support of organ donation, this passage is a must-read.
Best,
t.
