Usually my mantra that I say to myself on the first of every month is "rabbit rabbit". It's a truncated version of "rabbit rabbit, white rabbit", and I have no idea where I picked it up. It's supposed to bring you luck for the month. Just one of many superstitions and rituals that I have. This morning it seemed a bit more fitting for a new start: a month, a year, a decade.
I'm 26 weeks away from *another* anticipated big move. My to do list is a zillion items long. My new year's resolution? Nothing, because I have enough to worry about with my to do list, and I know that I don't need to worry about one more thing. Besides, let's face it: who really keeps their resolutions?
Last night, as stayed home and hung out with my dogs watching movies, surfing CNN and MSNBC on occasion to see how the world was ringing in the new year. I stumbled across a story that led me to an interesting website.
The whole gay marriage thing is, for me, a bit of a two-edged sword. I think it should be legal. However, I don't want to be married. Even if my life was different, I don't think I would want to be married. But it would be nice to have the option. And I want it because so many other people want to have the equality and acceptance of thier relationships and I think that it's the only right thing to do. I knew that in California, the Mormon cult was a huge force behind Prop 8 not passing, hence my little condescending run in with the cute Mormon boys a couple of weeks ago. There is a new movie that is out that details the depths of the treachery and social terrorism of this cult and exposes their efforts of their financial jauggernaut to commit crimes of hate, instil social terror and actively marginalize so many people of our state and really, country.
8TMP looks like it will be a huge expose' of a church who actively preaches hate and discrimination. In my mind, this cult is on a par with Fred Phelps and his Baptist hatemongering ministry.
Check out the link; check out the movie when it comes to your town; tell your friends about it.
Here's to the White Rabbit ending social terror.
Happy New Year, friend! Thanks for the link - I hadn't heard about this, so I'm anxious to take a peek at the film.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and lots of good thoughts for your "To do" list.
